Police in Wisconsin said a man was arrested after he used a cigarette lighter while trying to siphon gasoline from a van. The man, who was visiting friends, went to drive home early Saturday but realized that he didn’t have enough gas in his SUV.

Police said the man tried to siphon the gas with help from another woman, but he couldn’t see how much gas was in the container, so he used the lighter to check.

A blast of fire burned his hands and caused nearby residents to call police.

Police said he and the woman were located later in a store parking lot. He was arrested for theft and negligent use of burning materials.

The woman was referred to authorities for being party to theft. Formal charges haven’t been filed.

handcuff_police_Polizei_264012_l The man was caught late at night stealing from a German supermarket.  The thief escaped but was still handcuffed.  The man then ran to the local police station to have to cuffs removed.

"It was stupid of him," said a police spokesman said.

"They took the cuffs off but they kept him."

I’m not really sure he would have ever gotten the cuffs off anyway.  I think he was just getting his inevitable capture over with.

I’m not sure how the kid actually squeezed in there, but I think it’s pretty cool.

A criminal in Georgia (yes, Georgia again!), was easily caught after taking a cab to and from the SunTrust Bank he robbed.  The driver gave him up to the police.

I’m so ashamed of my home state Georgia.  So many really dumb people.

Taco SaladI can hardly write this story, it is so VERY dumb.  A man wielding a gun walks into Taco John’s Restaurant and demands money.  When they refuse, the man actually gives up and orders lunch.  He then sits down and eats.

The really sad part of this story:  They didn’t arrest the guy until later when he was found at a hotel.  How could they miss the guy?  He was sitting down in the restaurant he tried to rob EATING!

gold

Following the old adage, "There’s gold in them thar computer parts," a man was poisoned a couple of weeks ago while trying to use mercury to extract gold from … his computer parts. On Saturday, the man — Tulsa resident Tony Winnett — died. In the end, he lleft his home so contaminated that it cannot be lived in.
What was he thinking? Well, mercury chemically reacts with gold and causes it to separate, according to Durant/Bryan County Emergency Management Director James Dalton. Authorities believe that Winnett, along with his partner Melissa Lake, heated the mercury in an attempt to separate the gold and accidentally inhaled it.
