At 12:45 A.M. a woman from Condell Park awoke to find a knife wielding intruder in her room.  After being stabbed seven times, the woman pretended to be dead until the intruder left.

She had been stabbed in the arm, chest, and the head.  The woman is lucky the intruded stopped when he did or she may not have lived.

Police were appealing for witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Struggling painters must suffer for their art, slumming it in filthy digs and eating whatever’s in the fridge, even if it’s not food.

But Ani K licks those lightweights – he paints with his tongue and regularly, if not surprisingly, deals with nausea, cramp and headaches.

‘First, I tried with my nose but noticed others were already doing it. I thought of giving my tongue a try and succeeded,’ the 30-year-old said.

‘A few newspapers reported it. I got a good response. Then I made it a regular practice.’ Ani devised his technique last year, after seeing another artist paint using his foot.

A man dubbed ‘iTree Man of Java’ is planning to get married after 4lb of bark were cut away.

Dede Koswara, 37, says he plans to get hitched now that he can use his hands and walk without pain.

Speaking from an Indonesian hospital, he told the Daily Telegraph website: "What I really want first is to get better and find a job. But then, one day, who knows? I might meet a girl and get married."

SAINI SUNPURA, India - A baby with two faces was born in a northern Indian village, where she is doing well and is being worshipped as the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess, her father said Tuesday.

The baby, Lali, apparently has an extremely rare condition known as craniofacial duplication, where a single head has two faces. Except for her ears, all of Lali’s facial features are duplicated — she has two noses, two pairs of lips and two pairs of eyes.

"My daughter is fine — like any other child," said Vinod Singh, 23, a poor farm worker.

A Danish organizations has rented spots that could hold a total of 45 urns specifically for gays and lesbians.  The spots go for about $565.  The area is separated from the rest of the cemetery by a large triangle of pebbles on the group, with a huge rock on one of the angles.

"We founded an association called Regnbuen (Rainbow) and our goal is that gays and lesbians can be buried next to each other,” Ivan Larsen said.

"The triangle is our old symbol, but it is also a sign of suffering,” Mr Larsen said.

The rainbow flag, a universal symbol for homosexuals representing diversity, would be placed on the rock, he said.

"We don’t want to isolate ourselves but we also feel a need to be together. We see this as a family grave, one that will be taken care of by our family,” said Mr Larsen.

Seventy-four-year-old Harry DeVault and 65-year-old Sylvia Vance tied the knot a couple of days ago in the northeast Ohio Wal-Mart where they met and work. They decided to be married there so friends and co-workers could be part of the celebration.

But the newlyweds aren’t having much of a honeymoon. After just one day off, they say they’ll be back at work at their Wal-Mart today.

I was sent this one from the Internet  magazine BMEzine.com.  The story is about a man who always wanted his nose to be removed.  I’m not sure why he would want to do this, but after being turned down by multiple plastic surgeons, he finally got the nose he always wanted.

BME: Why did you want your nose removed?

WITZ: I don’t know, ever since I was a kid I imagined it. I don’t know if they have anything to do with it, because it’s the chicken and the egg, you know, but two things stand out. First, I remember watching Sesame Street episodes when I was very young, where Bert and Ernie would take their noses off, and it just really stuck with me, and I wished I could play that game… That, and my uncle always played “got your nose” with me and it was something I really remember fondly.
